Artist in the garden

Broomhill Sculpture Foundation

2010 - 2011

Over the last year I have created a structure from Sycamore twigs gathered from in and around the garden.

The cocoon, on a small island beside the stream has been planted with wild flower seeds which I collected from north Devon.  It has been left to gradually decay over time.

My original plan was to make a frame and cover it with cob but, it rained …and rained most of the summer which meant that it would not dry.

So, to plan B….. Developing the frame as the main work. This took a lot of weaving…. Special thanks going to Hayley and Kate for all their help.

During my time in the garden I also made incidental land art creations on the lake and in the trees.

The best time is about six am when everything is  peaceful.
